Peter Wilkins elected as Stevenage Borough councillor for Manor Ward in by-election

Peter Wilkins was elected as Stevenage Borough councillor for Manor Ward with a 32% majority in the Manor Ward by-election on Thursday 13th February. Peter will join existing Liberal Democrat borough councillors Robin Parker and Andy McGuinness in representing Manor Ward residents on Stevenage Borough Council.

Peter Wilkins has a background in social housing and he is a building surveyor. He has lived in the area for over 30 years and is a keen supporter of Stevenage football club.

The results of the poll were as follows: Liberal Democrats 760 (55.6%), Reform UK 320 (23.4%), Conservative  139 (10.2%), Labour 101 (7.4%), Green 46 (3.4%).

The by-election was caused by the death of serving councillor Graham Snell in November 2024.

Speaking after the count Peter said "Our thoughts are tinged with sadness because we lost our friend Graham but I'm determined to follow in his footsteps by being a good local councillor and representing the people of Manor as best I can".
