Councillor Sean Prendergast

Letchworth South West Ward

Sean Prendergast is the Councillor for Letchworth South West Ward on North Hertfordshire District Council. He was also elected in May 2025 as the County Councillor for Letchworth South. 

With a strong passion for housing, Sean previously served as the Executive Member for Housing and Environmental Services, where he played a key role in implementing a Homelessness Charter and developing both a Housing Strategy and an Empty Homes Strategy.

Sean brings a wealth of frontline experience to his public service, having worked as a Housing Officer in Letchworth for approximately seven years. He now serves as an Investigator for the Housing Ombudsman Service.

In addition to his council responsibilities, Sean is a trustee of Survivors Against Domestic Abuse, underlining his commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community. Sean has been actively involved in initiatives to keep roads safe, streets clean, and public spaces welcoming for all residents.

Dedicated and community-focused, Sean continues to work hard to improve the lives of residents.
